[ 2 ] Client Contact
You will be contacted with a case number once the media is in our possession and entered into the database. After which you are kept up to date by phone and/or email on the status of the recovery process.

[ 3 ] Free Evaluation
First, we must determine whether the problem is physical (hardware), logical (data structure) or combination of both. We continue the process by providing an approximate time estimate and final cost of recovery. A two page Service Agreement will then be sent to you for approval, outlining the details of the diagnostic and the steps required for recovery. Once page two of the service agreement has been signed and faxed back to us, the recovery work will begin. We complete all evaluations within twenty-four hours.

[ 4 ] Imaging Process
Our process includes getting your hard drive into a state where we can safely extract the data to a safe location on our servers, and assemble the data into a readable form.
How do we do that?
Using our specialized proprietary cloning workstations, we create a bit for bit duplicate of your hard drive. This duplicate is an exact replica of your drive and may include areas that may have surface damage. The rest of the recovery work is then performed using the duplicate, to help preserve the integrity of your drive.

[ 5 ] Data Security, Recovery Tools, and Equipment
We keep a copy of your recovered data for seven days from the final invoice date. After which the copy will be destroyed. Recovery workstations and data storage servers have no Internet connections. All precautions are taken to preserve the privacy and protection of your information. Along with our class 100 clean room environment, we have many proprietary tools, some of which we have had to develop ourselves to solve specific problems. All equipment is up to date, to handle all of the latest changes in the hard drive industry. While we've been serving customers for seven years, our technology, and processes have been in the making for over a decade.

[ 6 ] Data Delivery
You can purchase one of our in-house 320GB external hard drive USB kits for $55 plus GST, or provide your own. If the recovered data does not exceed 4.7GB's in size we will recover the data to a DVD-R at no extra cost. Essential Data Recovery will not be able to honor the warranty of the external hard drive kit, and not be responsible for data recovery after the seven day period has lapsed.
